  • Street placement needs a permit. A unit in the street or on the sidewalk beside a build site needs a City of Davis encroachment permit. Driveways and private yards do not.
  • Greenbelts and bike paths stay clear. We place units on your lot, not on city greenbelts or paths behind many Davis homes.
  • Summer heat changes servicing. Davis afternoons often top 95°F from June to September. Shade the unit and add a service visit for big crews.
  • Winter rain softens Yolo clay soil. From November to March, set units on pavement or plywood so they stay level.

Davis porta potty rental questions

These are the questions Davis renters ask most before booking. They cover price, same-day delivery, city permits, delivery day, cleaning, summer placement and unit counts. More answers are on the full questions page.

How much does it cost to rent a porta potty in Davis?

A standard porta potty for a Davis weekend event starts at $249, with delivery and pickup included. A job-site or remodel unit starts at $199 per 28 days with weekly cleaning, plus a one-time $75 delivery and pickup fee. Tax is added. Your written quote lists every charge before you pay. See the full pricing guide.

Can I get a porta potty delivered today in Davis?

Same-day delivery anywhere in Davis is available Monday to Saturday when you call by 12 p.m. A same-day fee starting at $75 may apply when the driver has to leave the planned route. Calls after noon are booked for the next morning. Call (530) 471-1962 so dispatch can confirm a time window.

Do I need a permit to put a porta potty on my street in Davis?

A unit on a private driveway or yard needs no city permit. A unit placed in the street or on the sidewalk next to a construction site needs a City of Davis encroachment permit. Apply by email to PW-Permits@cityofdavis.org or call Public Works at 530-747-8279. City of Davis encroachment permits.

Do I have to be home when you deliver?

You do not need to be home. Mark the spot with a cone, stake or chalk and add gate codes to your order. The driver calls about 30 minutes ahead. If nobody answers, the driver uses your notes and sends a photo of the placed unit.

Can you drop it off Friday and pick it up Monday?

Friday drop-off and Monday pickup is the standard plan for Saturday and Sunday events in Davis. The price stays the same as a one-day rental. The unit arrives a day early, so it is ready before guests show up. Holiday Monday pickups move to Tuesday.

How often is the porta potty cleaned?

Rentals of 7 days or longer get one service visit each week. The technician pumps the tank, cleans and sanitizes the inside, and restocks paper and sanitizer. Weekend event units arrive clean and do not need service. Extra visits start at $85 for big crews or busy events.

Where should I put a porta potty in Davis summer heat?

Put the unit on level ground in afternoon shade, at least 10 feet from windows and patio seating. Davis summer afternoons often pass 95°F, and shade keeps odor down. Face the door away from the west sun. For crews of 10 or more in July and August, add a second weekly service.

How many porta potties do I need for a backyard party?

Plan 1 standard unit for every 50 guests at a party of up to 4 hours. A 100-guest party needs 2 units. Add 1 unit if alcohol is served. For longer events, use our porta potty calculator.
