Do I need a permit for a porta potty in Auburn?
Inside city limits, the Auburn Administration and Engineering Division issues encroachment permits. You apply through the city online portal. A unit on a street or sidewalk needs one, but your driveway does not. North Auburn, Bowman and Christian Valley are outside city limits, so Placer County Public Works handles those.

Placement and servicing tips for Auburn
Auburn sits at about 1,200 feet, with steep streets and hillside lots. Old Town and Downtown have narrow, sloped streets with little parking. We need a level spot and room to back in. Red clay gets slick in winter rain, and drives off Highway 49 can be tight. We stake units on ridges and slopes.
Winter storms can slow the I-80 climb, so we plan service around them.
What people rent porta potties for in Auburn
Auburn work includes remodels of older homes, foothill custom builds and Old Town business updates. These jobs often need one unit placed on a tight lot. Trail races and endurance rides that finish in Auburn need many units and hand wash stations. Ranch weddings in Christian Valley and Ophir need trailers or flushing units.

Auburn porta potty questions
The questions below come up most for Auburn jobs and events. Tap one to open the answer.
Can you get a truck up my steep Auburn driveway?
Most of the time, we can. Tell us about the grade, tight turns and where we can turn around. If the drive is too steep, we drop the unit at a flat spot near the road. Our service truck also needs that path each week.
My property is in North Auburn. Who handles permits?
North Auburn is outside city limits, so Placer County Public Works handles road permits there. A unit on your own land does not need one. Only the county road shoulder does. Inside city limits, the city Engineering Division handles permits. Ask us if you are unsure which side of the line you are on.
Do you provide units for trail race finish areas?
We do, and we plan these well ahead. Big races need many units, hand wash stations and an wheelchair-accessible unit. We place them on firm, level ground and can service during the event. We keep units off trails and out of runner paths. Tell us your start and finish times.
How early should I call for same-day delivery in Auburn?
Auburn is about 47 miles from Davis, so call by 10 a.m. for same-day delivery. Later calls get next-morning delivery. Weekend events drop Friday and pick up Monday. The I-80 climb adds time, so long jobs get a set weekly service day. Book big events a week or more ahead.
Can you bring units to an event at the Gold Country Fairgrounds?
We can, but the fairgrounds sets the rules. The Gold Country Fairgrounds on High Street hosts the Gold Country Fair and many private events. Most events there go through the fairgrounds office. Ask them about outside vendors, delivery times, and gate access. Then send us the details and your layout.
Can a unit go on the street during an Old Town Auburn remodel?
Usually, but you need city approval first. A unit in the street or on a sidewalk needs an encroachment permit from City of Auburn Public Works. Old Town streets are narrow and steep. We may bring a smaller truck or deliver early on a weekday. Send photos of the spot before booking.
