Porta Potty Rental Questions and Answers
47 answers to the questions renters ask before they book a porta potty in Davis and nearby towns. Each answer is short and starts with the fact you need.

Ordering and delivery
How far ahead should I book a porta potty?
Book 1 to 2 weeks ahead for spring and fall weekends, and 1 to 3 months ahead for restroom trailers. Job-site and weekday orders in Davis can often go out the same day on noon calls.
What time will the driver arrive?
Drivers deliver between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and call about 30 minutes before arrival. We give a 2- to 4-hour window the day before. Add an early-delivery note if your event starts before noon.
Do you deliver on weekends?
Saturday delivery runs on the normal route. Sunday delivery is not offered, so Sunday events get Friday or Saturday drop-off and Monday pickup.
Can you deliver Thursday in case Friday fills up?
Thursday delivery for a weekend event costs the same. Friday is the busiest route day, so earlier drop-off is a safe choice.
Can you deliver to a field or lot with no street address?
Send a map pin or GPS coordinates and a site contact phone. The driver calls that contact before arrival.
Can the delivery address be different from my billing address?
Delivery and billing addresses can differ. Many renters book units for a parent's house, a church or a job site.
Do you deliver to UC Davis?
Campus deliveries need approval from the campus department hosting the event. Give us the building, lot number and the campus contact, and we schedule through them.
Prices and payment
How much does a porta potty rental cost?
Standard event units start at $249 with delivery and pickup. Job-site units start at $199 per 28 days plus a one-time $75 delivery fee. See the pricing guide.
Is the price per day or for the whole rental?
Event prices cover the whole Friday-to-Monday window. Monthly prices cover a full 28-day cycle with weekly service.
Does the price include delivery and pickup?
Event prices include delivery and pickup. Monthly rentals add one delivery-and-pickup fee in the first cycle only.
What is the total out the door?
Your quote shows the unit, delivery, pickup, service, any same-day fee and sales tax. That total is what you pay.
How do I pay?
Pay by Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express when you book. You get a text and email link to e-sign and pay. Cash is not accepted by drivers.
Do you give discounts for more than one unit?
Units on the same truck share one delivery cost. Orders of 5 or more units get volume pricing.
Do nonprofits or churches pay sales tax?
Tax-exempt groups pay no sales tax once they send us the exemption certificate.
Can I get a W-9 or certificate of insurance?
We email a W-9 and a certificate of insurance for vendor setup on request.
Units and choosing the right one
What comes in a standard porta potty?
A toilet over a 60-gallon tank, a urinal, hand sanitizer, 2 paper rolls, a mirror and a vent. See the standard unit page.
Is there a porta potty with a sink inside?
The flushing unit has a foot-pump sink, soap, towels and a flush toilet.
Do you have a handicap porta potty?
The wheelchair-accessible unit has ground-level entry, a 32-inch door and handrails.
What is the difference between an event unit and a construction unit?
The unit is the same. Event rentals are short and flat-priced. Construction rentals bill every 28 days and include weekly service.
Do you rent restroom trailers?
We rent 2-room and larger restroom trailers that need a 20-amp outlet and water.
What colors are the units?
Most units are blue or gray. Ask if you need a set color for an event and we check stock.
Do you sell porta potties?
We rent units only. Renting includes delivery, cleaning and waste disposal.
Placement and access
Do I have to be there when you deliver?
Nobody needs to be present. Mark the spot, add gate codes and leave a phone number. The driver texts a photo once placed.
How much space does a porta potty need?
A standard unit needs a level spot about 4 by 4 feet and 8 feet of headroom. An accessible unit needs about 6 by 6 feet.
Can it go in my back yard?
It can go in a back yard if the gate is at least 48 inches wide and the path is firm. The truck parks within about 15 feet.
Can it go on grass?
Grass works when it is level and dry. After rain we use plywood under the unit.
Will the truck damage my driveway?
Our trucks are pickup-size. We avoid soft lawns and pavers when possible, but we are not responsible for damage to pavement or landscaping at the spot you choose.
Do I need a permit?
Private property needs no permit. Units in a city street or sidewalk usually need an encroachment permit from that city's public works office.
Can I put a lock on it?
We fit a hasp for your padlock at no charge. Leave the code for our technician.
Cleaning and servicing
Is cleaning included?
Weekly cleaning is included on rentals of 7 days or more. Weekend event units arrive clean and need no service.
Do I need to schedule the weekly cleaning?
Weekly service is automatic. The technician comes on your route day without a call.
What happens during a service visit?
The technician pumps the tank, scrubs and sanitizes surfaces, adds fresh chemical, and restocks paper and sanitizer.
Can I get extra cleanings?
Extra service visits start at $85 each. Book them for big crews, heat waves or busy events.
Where does the waste go?
Waste is pumped into our service truck and taken to a licensed treatment facility. Nothing is dumped on site.
Do I need to clean it before pickup?
You do not clean it. Keep trash, diapers and food out of the tank.
Can you pump out a unit or tank I own?
Call and describe the tank size and location. We quote pump-outs for owned units and RV tanks.
Pickup, extensions and cancellations
When do you pick it up?
Event units are picked up the next business day after your event. Monthly units stay until you call or text for pickup.
Can I extend my rental?
Monthly units extend automatically every 28 days. For event units, call before pickup day and we price the extra days.
Can I cancel?
Cancel at least 24 hours before scheduled delivery for a full refund. Same-day orders cannot be refunded once the truck leaves.
Can I change my date?
Change your date at least 24 hours before delivery at no charge, subject to availability.
What if I need it longer than I thought?
Keep it. A monthly unit simply renews. An event unit can switch to a monthly rental.

Can I rent a porta potty for one day?

Do you supply porta potties for funerals and memorials?
